WHAT IS LIFESTYLE NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY?
Lifestyle newborn photography sessions are lesser known and quite different than newborn portraiture sessions, however they are just as stunning and sweet. You will find your session will be more relaxed with a "go-with-the-flow" feeling. I will focus on natural poses, simplicity, family portraits and any special traits that I believe should be captured. It is quickly becoming one of my favourite sessions that I offer to my clients.
WHAT ARE SOME BENEFITS TO BOOKING A LIFESTYLE NEWBORN SESSION?
Time: Timing is everything when it comes to newborn photography. For an in studio newborn baby posed portrait session I aim to try and get the babies into my Sunshine Coast, B.C studio before they are fourteen days old. The younger the better to get those sleepy, snuggled up posed shots. A baby that is new to the world is much more likely to get into a deep enough sleep to work with their tiny bodies to get those adorable captures. Newborns are also very flexible in the first two weeks as they are accustomed to being curled up and cozy in mama's womb (and they are very happy in this snuggly state)
(Time is also very key in a newborn portraiture session because sometimes it may take a while to get the baby into that nice, deep sleep that makes it so easy to pose them. We have to be patient with these beautiful little ones.)
The lifestyle newborn sessions focuses mostly on the interaction between your new bundle of joy and the rest of your family members (including pets--seriously, those moments are so precious). So, the timing isn't as important of a factor. This is so wonderful for Mamas who contact me once their baby is past the "magic age" for the traditional posed newborn sessions. If your baby is getting close to two weeks old or past it and you would like to book a session, please contact me!
